Overview

Journey to Phnom Kulen, the sacred mountain where the mighty Khmer Empire was founded in 802 AD. This historical and spiritual site offers an unforgettable blend of culture and nature.

River of 1000 Lingas: Discover thousands of intricate Hindu lingas carved directly into the riverbed, sanctifying the water flowing towards Angkor.

The Reclining Buddha: See the revered largest Reclining Buddha in Cambodia, carved into a massive sandstone boulder at the mountain’s summit.

Kulen Waterfall: Cool off and relax with a refreshing swim beneath the two-tiered waterfall, a popular oasis surrounded by lush jungle.

Cambodia Elephant Sanctuary
Nestled in the protected forest at the foothills of Kulen Mountain, this ethical sanctuary serves as a peaceful retirement haven for elephants rescued from the labor and tourism industries—including the former riding elephants of Angkor. Spend a meaningful afternoon walking alongside these gentle giants in their natural habitat, observing their social behaviors, and helping to prepare their nutritious snacks. Your visit directly supports long-term elephant welfare and vital conservation efforts across Cambodia.

Banteay Srey (Free optional add-on)
If time permits and you have an active Angkor Temple Pass, we can stop at the “Citadel of the Women.” Built from pink sandstone, this 10th-century temple is famous for having the most intricate and well-preserved carvings in all of Cambodia. The carvings are so delicate that legend says they could only have been crafted by the fine hands of women.
